Taken last summer at Rosecliff mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. I don't know exactly what you'd call this thing (I just called it a trellis
 ), but in any case it's part of the rose garden at the side of the house. I thought it was one of the prettiest areas on the property, and it reminded me a bit of The Secret Garden, one of my favorite books. More Newport photos should be coming in the future.  |

I'd heard about the Beechwood sale, too, but never heard the outcome. It'd be a shame if the new owner didn't continue the tours and events - I've always wanted to go to the Victorian Christmas party and the 20's murder mystery nights.
